My mother is 86 years old, and she's been told she doesn't look any older than 70 year-old. I think that's due to the fact that she has always taken care of herself.

My mother raised three girls in the 60s and 70s, not a time where that was common. After she became an empty nester she met a wonderful man and they enjoyed many years together. He then got ill, and she took care of him, as best she could.

So you can see, when she needed help It was very difficult for her to reach out and admit she couldn't help herself.

Each of us daughters have different gifts and have been a support various ways over the years. Unfortunately, when several health issues came up we were unable to meet her needs. This is when Dr. Paradis Reed came into the picture. She actually went to see my mother! She assessed her overall health. Some things were able to be fixed right away and some are still in process. But Dr. Reed has been there each step of the way.

The difference between us daughters managing this phase in her life and Dr. Reed is, "She's not her daughter." I would add that she truly has the skills and love for the elderly.

My mother now is feeling so much better and often says she has no needs now. (Her independent self is back)!

In the fall of 2019 I had a mammogram which showed a lump in my left breast. I scheduled for surgery in Kona where I live and the day before the surgery in December my records could not be found so surgery was cancelled. I would have had 8 weeks of radiation. In conferring with Dr. Reed I decided to travel to Seattle where she arranged for the different appointments and examinations. Another lump was found in my right breast which decided that I should get a double mastectomy and reconstruction in February 2020.
